Orchid Community Pots – Pros and Cons of potting multiple Orchids together
Today we start a new project which many of you asked me to talk about for a long time, the community pots!
▼▼▼More info below!▼▼▼
Potting multiple orchids together is a practice not many orchid growers prefer, but there are a few ways and instances in which it can be quite useful!
Orchid keikis can be potted together with their mother orchids, improving the display of the entire orchid! Siblings or even different orchids of the same variety can be potted together resulting in more blooms and a better display!
There are always downsides to anything and one of the major downside of community pots is spread of pest and pathogens. needless to say we will automatically jeopardize all orchids in the community pot.
Also not all orchids are compatible, thus orchids with various genera in the same pot are not common at all, they are avoided!
In the end it is up to each one of us, but knowing how to do this properly will definitely diminish the risk!
