Using Citrox disinfectant with Orchids – First impressions

Today we are trying out the disinfectant I kept talking about in the previous week. Citrox!

Now this product is supposed to be a replacement for the very popular Physan20 which is barely available, if at all in Europe. It is however organic and non toxic, or so the company brags. The product is based on citrus fruit extracts, but the extent of the ingredients is a mystery.. which is VERY VERY ODD! .. VERY!.. I might email Agralan actually.

So based on the companies recommendations we cannot make a formula designed for hydroponic flushes, there seems to be a typo or something in the article We can however direct our attention here so a more fitting mixture can be done.

First impressions? No smell at all, not even of any popular disinfectant. It makes a bit of foam with water when agitated and is not oily. Using the lowest concentration there is no miracle algae removal, but that is not what I was hoping for. 24 hours laer and the roots are still intact, we will see how it performs on maintenance!
